DICKSBORO’S senior hurlers were unceremoniously bundled out the senior championship by Ballyhale Shamrocks.
Their junior hurlers would no doubt have got some measure of compensation against another South Kilkenny side at junior level.
But it wasn’t to be.
The ‘Boro were the lone city representatives in the semi-finals of the semi-finals of the JJ Kavanagh & Sons Junior Hurling Championship.
But while they were prepared to battle bravely, it was Noel Hickey and company from Dunnamaggin who did the business, so ensuring that the county final would be an all-South affair.
It ended 2-14 to 1-18 at Nowlan Park on Sunday.
