SCORCHING weather helped to make Saturday a fashion and fun-filled spectacular for ladies of fashion and senior hurlers.

It was Ladies Day and the beautiful conditions and excellent entertainment on and off the racecourse ensured an occasion to remember.

The day was a boost for Kilkenny GAA as benefiting was a training fund for the senior hurlers who face Galway in the Leinster Final at Croker on this Sunday.

There was live music, a special Ladies Day Pavilion, a Champagne and Gin Bar, barbecue and visits from a selection of our hurlers.

Guest judge and master of ceremonies was Trishuna Archer who did an excellent job of informing and ensuring continuity.

The two-day spectacular continued on Sunday with a Family Day.

The sun refused to go home and that was good news for extended family members who did not spare cream to protect them from the sun’s rays.

The weekend activities were held in conjunction with MacDonagh Junction and the Pembroke Hotel, Patrick Street.
