    VTOS Kilkenny launched their 10th annual woodcarving exhibition; ‘Through the Window’ in MacDonagh Junction.

    The class of 2018 produced an amazing display of work. Their journey began last September and culminated in a fine display of superior pieces under the watchful eye of teacher, Peter O’ Carroll.

    This exhibition forms part of their Level 5 QQI Award in Furniture Making. MC was Geraldine Moran, VTOS co-ordinator who expressed pride at the work on display.

    She thanked Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board for supporting the VTOS programme. She welcomed guests Cynthia Deane, Chief Executive of the Education Training Board and Martha Bolger, Further Education Director ETB.

    Martha congratulated all participants on their exceptional work and officially opened the exhibition.

    Cynthia Deane commended participants on their wonderful achievements and wished all much success with their future endeavours.

    Marian Acreman, centre manager at MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre congratulated all the learners on their excellence.

    Geraldine thanked Peter O’Carroll for his guidance and inspirational work. She gave thanked Michelle Keary and Noel Murphy from the Digital Marketing Class for their work in preparing for the exhibition.

    She thanked Veronica Wall from the Information Processing Class for her excellence in the organising and distribution of the exhibition booklets and Ann Nolan form the QQI Level 5 Digital Photography class for doing the photography.

    Guests enjoyed refreshments in the Courtyard Bar and Grill. The exhibition runs until tomorrow, Thursday.
