SATURDAY was a roaster for O’Brien’s Master Butchers as they marked the unveiling of their new shop at Loughboy Shopping Centre.
The sun blazed down and sausages sizzled as James O’Brien took over the reins from his dad Gerry.
Hundreds turned up to celebrate with the O’Brien family so naturally owner James O’Brien was thrilled as he thanked existing and new customers for continued support.
“We have been open for business for 38 years, ever since my parents opened in 1980. This party is for loyal customers, without whom we wouldn’t be here today,” said James.
Partying continued into the afternoon with barbequed food from O’Brien’s own farm, Chef Anne Neary’s home-made lemonade, desserts from Rockfield vintage ice-cream van, children’s entertainment and lots of special offers in the new look shop.
James O’Brien thanked everyone for joining in the fun and supporting his family.
He wanted everyone to leave with a new found appreciation of the magic of meat at his state of the art butchers that employs 14 people.
