IN AN interesting South v North confrontation at St John’s Park, St Patrick;s of Ballyragget had a convincing 1-23 to 1-13 senior hurling league win over Carrick at St John’s Park.

The Saints were full value for their victory and the club that gave such great value at national levellast year can keep up the good work at the top rung of the game at local level this year.

Meanwhile in yet another North v South clash, Ballyhale Shamrocks had a facile 1-24 to 0-13 win over Erin’s Own of Castlecomer at Tom Ryall Park, Kilmanagh.
