Whitty’s never tyre of excellence

    A LIMERICK business owned by a Kilkenny couple has won a major excellence award.

    Whitty’s Mace, Caherdavin, Limerick scooped the prestigious 2018 Mace Centre of Excellence Award.

    The store is the property of Kilkenny-based husband and wife, Simon and Kate Whitty who also own local business, Tyreland.

    Ten years ago they opened Tyreland, an excellently run tyre centre at the old creamery in Cuffesgrange on the main road between Kilkenny and Callan.

    Tyreland continues to develop, employs seven locals and has a strong customer base.

    The excellence accolade is the highest honour awarded within the Mace family and it’s very difficult to win.

    Mace is part of the BWG  Group and is one of the leading players in the Irish market.
