Harvey Norman release their interiors spring summer 2018 catalogue with an exclusive press launch in the new flagship store, Taillight

Over 100 interior experts, journalists and influencers attended the exclusive event to launch the Harvey Norman Interiors Spring Summer 2018 collection on the evening of Wednesday 21st March, 2018 in the Flagship store, Tallaght. The event celebrated the retailer’s collaborations with workshops, demonstrations, trends talks, pillow measuring in the Sleep Studio and the launch of their new Faux Flower Shop. The evening was focused on their Irish collaborations in particular with brands like Colourtrend, Scatterbox, Kingkoil, Thermo Pure, Wellbeing, Briody, Emerald Isle and of course the Irish made velvet upholstered quartz green “Studio” sofa that dons the front cover of Spring Summer catalogue. Harvey Norman calls this season’s trends, the scaffolding of the catalogue.

If you are looking for trends that will stand the test of time, then Beeten Track is the Spring Summer 2018 trend for you. Two key colours of the movement, both inspired by food, are celery and beetroot. Moving from 2017 to 2018, we see greens becoming gentler. We’re already seeing purple being used in advertising and pantone has named Ultra Violet the colour of 2018. To bring this trend to life in your home you can simply combine homewares and paint.

This trend is all about the subtle move away from our dependence on grey. Base colours will gradually change to fresher tones, like the soft peaches seen here. The HN Interiors new collection of floral digital prints can be seen on gorgeous velvet feather-filled cushions. They’ve chosen furniture with a contemporary feel, but with materials that are warm and nostalgic.

Embrace the gold around you! Take it one step further and marry it with yellow. The trend has been influenced by the resurgence of the arts and crafts movement;  a movement that advocates a return to traditional methods of crafting. The hero of this look is the ‘Zoey’ Chaise Sofa, shown in mustard quilted velvet and also available in more muted tones.
