HURLING heroes, Kilkenny captain Cillian Buckley and Dicksboro senior captain Ollie Walsh officially launched the Presentation Primary School’s fund-raiser Who wants to be a Thousandaire? in the Ormonde Hotel.

Many of the major sponsors attended, including Castle Orthodontics, Caulfield’s SuperValu, Loughboy, Fran Grincell Properties, Manning Travel, Michael Lyng Motors, Lowry’s Furniture, The Taxback Group and VHI Healthcare.

School principal, Irene Deasy thanked all sponsors for their generous support and the 70 + local advertisers who have backed the venture.

She also paid tribute to staff and parents for all their hard work and commitment.  “We are

all looking forward to a superb night as the show is guaranteed to be great fun,” she said.

Ollie and Cillian were the first to purchase tickets to the show.  Tickets are on sale at the school or by contacting Carmel on 087-6625227.

Tom Shanahan, Pallas Marketing entertained all with a sample of how the fund-raiser works.

Cillian Buckley tested his knowledge with a round of questions using the same multiple choice format as the popular Who wants to be a Millionaire Show with the option of using three lifelines:  50:50; phone a friend and ask the audience.

Cillian succeeded in winning €1,000 only to be told it was for fun and he would have to turn up on the night of the show in the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel on March, 22 and hope to be picked again.

Proceeds from this fund-raiser will go to resurfacing the junior and senior

Tickets for the show are €20 or a book of four for €50, there are lots of  reasons to phone a friend or a few, and invite them to join in the craic.
