IT WAS another brilliant day for the St Brigid’s College, Callan Fun Run.

A superb Sunday turnout certainly copperfastens the future of the annual fund-raisers by the Parents’ Council.

Some 270 enthusiasts turned out on a cool but healthy morning to enjoy a pre-lunch alfresco amble or dash that was superbly organised.

A great field of 150 took part in the 5k which took the Byepass Route and 120 hardy souls enjoyed the longer and perhaps more scenic route on the peripherals.

It was thirsty work for the participants but thanks to the generosity of local businesses there was no short supply of light thirst quenchers.

Nobody went hungry either as there were lashings of sandwiches, buns and cakes.

Local fitness instructor, Rory Comerford did a warm-up with young and young at heart who supported the popular event.

School principal, Mary O’Keeffe and chair of the Parents’ Council, Kathleen Cahill thanked all for their generosity and support.

Funds, all of which go the college for development, were boosted by a raffle with prizes again sponsored by locals.
