FOR THE first time, past members of Warrington Pony Club will strut their stuff on the catwalk to help raise funds for their old club and for the Make a Wish Charity Foundation.
A fashion show will be held in Langton’s on March 8, just in time to showcase the latest fashion trends for the busy racing season, inspiration for the Cheltenham Race Festival.
The theme is Made in Chelsea meets Only Fools and Horses.
Irish show jumpers modelling will include Eddie Maloney, Paddy O’Donnell, Vincent Byrne, Tholm Keane and a host of other equestrian professionals.
Local sports heroes modelling will be rugby’s Mick Galwey, Snooker and Irish Pool Champion, Danielle Randall, former All-Ireland camogie captain Tracy Millea, and James Fennelly, four times Ireland’s Strongest Man.
County hurlers Michael Fennelly, Cillian Buckley and Eoin Murphy will model.
The organisers have roped in Master Yoga Instructor Imelda Norris and professional dancers Rachael Ellard and Ger Hayes.
Winner of Top Model Ireland 2017, Krister Timusk will show the amateur models how it’s done.
“If the press photo shoot is anything to go by there will be a lot of horsing around with this lot,” he told The Reporter.
Some of the proceeds will go to Make a Wish and Axa Insurance has promised to double the donation.
MC will be Siobhan Donohoe. With her two children in the Pony Clubm there was no escaping ‘mucking in’.
“I’ve seen the range of clothes for the show and they are suitable for all shapes and sizes. The items are not for the race goer only but are perfect for any day out.
“I’m a keen supporter of Kilkenny retailers. I believe we should support local.
“Our retailers depend on us and they are all super to come out and support the club with their new collections.”
Retailers contributing are The Design Centre, Paul’s Department Store, Lady Lorna, Peaches, 38co, Warrington Equestrian Shop, The Wardrobe, Richard Duggan’s, Frank Walls, Villa and Hats by Turning Head Hat Hire and Michelle Treacy Millinery.
Treasurer Michelle McCormack says it’s great to see so many past members and professional sports people supporting the club.
“We rely on the help of parents and when you see the smiles on the children’s faces its all worth it.
“We thank Langton’s Hotel, Airmax Inflatables, the retailers, models, make-up artists and in particular the Moloney family.”
There will also be prizes for Best Dressed Lady and Gent. Ger Hayes from Lord of the Dance plans to dazzle the audience at the interval and there will be plenty of raffle prizes and a DJ until late.
Please go along and support. Tickets are €10 from Warrington Equestrian Centre 056-772 2682, Langton’s Hotel 056-7765133 and Donohoe Properties 056-7770400.
