IT WAS a great night of entertainment at a local tavern that prides itself on perfect porter and a classy music mix.

There were too good reasons to go to the David Bowie Tribute at Ryan’s, aka Arthur Drohan’s, a few yards from the Capuchin Friary where you can amble for forgiveness after imbibing a pint over and above your quota.

King Arthur prides himself on providing top class bands, catering for all tastes and none. Attending Saturday’s tribute should have brought satisfaction on the double.

The Bowie Show was magnificent and was really appreciated by aficionados and others. And it was pleasing too to know that you were supporting the Cois Nore Cancer Support Service, Walkin Street which does such great work in our local community.

David Bowie was born in Brixton, London on January 8, 1947. He passed away in Manhattan, New York City on January 10, 2016.

Bowie may be gone but he is not forgotten and never will be as long as his legion of followers have blood in their veins.
