BIRTHDAY BOY, Pakie Ó Dwyer is son of Michael and Mary O’Dwyer, both deceased, formerly of St Fiacre’s Place in Kilkenny City.

His siblings include the eldest of the family, the late Jim, Michael, Maura Dorney, the late Seán Ó Dwyer, Peggy Hoyne, Ted O’Dwyer and Ann Gibbons.

The original family home was at 20 St Fiacre’s Place, Jim married Pat Wall and they lived in 66.

Pakie and Breda O’Dwyer live at Hazel Grove, a rather interesting address that perhaps reminds that Pakie has always been nuts about music.

The list of bands which Pakie played with over the years should make nostalgic reading, particularly for elder lemons.

Here goes: The Red Aces, The Night Owls, Tumbleweeds, The Thunderbirds, The Lads, The Nomads, Mick Delahunty Orchestra, Apollo Five, The Black Aces, The Aces of which he has been a member for over 40 years.
